Life is like a blank canvas. Some people paint storms, others sunlight. My summer in the United States became a rainbow.
When I first stood at the gates of Six Flags Great Escape, I could almost hear the laughter and the roar of roller coasters even though the park was still closed. But once the excitement faded, loneliness set in.
I lived in a quiet forest far from the city, and the silence at night made me miss my family deeply. Gradually, I learned to face it. Under the silver moon and starry sky, I grew stronger and braver.
As a kiddy ride operator, every day was filled with smiles and laughter. Teenagers cheered my name, parents thanked me again and again, and children’s joy was infectious. One little boy even gave me a wet, messy kiss that brightened my entire day. I realized happiness grows when it’s shared, and even small gestures can make someone’s day.
With the money I earned, I travelled to Niagara Falls and Boston, where nature and history left me in awe. Beyond sightseeing, the trip taught me independence and resilience. I learned to manage money, solve problems, and navigate life without relying on anyone else.

Working alongside people from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Russia, and Turkey also showed me how to appreciate different cultures and connect beyond language. By the end of the summer, I had not only earned an income but gained lifelong memories and friendships.
As the plane took off, I looked at the glowing sunset and smiled. That summer had changed me — and the rainbow I painted will stay with me forever.
