The world is changing and evolving, a unique and new opportunity has arisen for students to gain practical work experience in different parts of the world without leaving their homes.

The Global Virtual Internship Program is designed with primary objectives to enhance the skills and expertise of international candidates in their academic or occupational fields through participation in a structured and guided project-based virtual internship and to improve participants’ knowledge of distinctive techniques and methodologies.

Such global virtual internship programs are also intended to increase participants’ understanding of the various remote work culture and to enhance Host Companies’ knowledge of foreign cultures and skills through an open interchange of ideas between participants and their associates through online work.

A virtual intern will develop hard and soft skills with close supervision and evaluation from a mentor within the Host Organization/Companies.

The Global Virtual Internship Program is available all year round but subjects to individual host companies’ hiring needs and requirements.

The US virtual internship offers some flexible start dates – twice per month unless otherwise mentioned, and the Europe/Asia virtual internship will have specific start dates each month or every two months.

The placement turnaround time is quick and prompt but applicants are advised to apply at least 3 months ahead before the intended start date of the Global Virtual Internship Program.

The US virtual internship positions are paid, range from US$200 to US$1,000 (per month), depending on the Host Companies.

Europe and Asia virtual internships placements are unpaid unless otherwise mentioned. However, they offer virtual workshops that compliment the internship experience by offering different perspectives on professional development and the changing world of work.
The global virtual internship program is not suitable/applicable to those that required on-site supervision and hands-on guidance, i.e. Hospitality, Culinary, etc. field of study. If you are from any of this background, you need to apply for a traditional internship via Internship USA (not a virtual internship).
Note:
Program Availability

Be at least 18 years old.

Possess an intermediate to a proficient level of English skills to function in a business setting.

Be a full-time tertiary student in your local university or have graduated no more than 12 months for the virtual internship USA application. (Europe and Asia global virtual internship program can accept graduates of no more than 24 months)

The proposed training program must demonstrate a correlation to your program of study or degree area.

Own a laptop/computer with audio capabilities
-
Have a good, reliable/stable internet connection and access to webcam for online orientation, meetings, seminars, etc.
Eligibility Requirements

A minimum of 8 weeks to 3 months is required with 6 months being the maximum.

Full-time or part-time project-based learning basis with 16, 20 to 40 hours per week commitment needed, depending on students’ needs, the host businesses, and/or the virtual internship destination.
