Au Pair USA

Overview

The Au Pair USA Program offers a unique cultural exchange experience where participants live with an American host family and help care for their children. It’s an opportunity to explore everyday American life while building independence and global friendships.

What Is an Au Pair?

“Au Pair” means “at par” in French — reflecting a relationship built on equality and mutual respect.

Au Pairs are treated as part of the family, not as domestic workers or nannies.

Role and Experience

Your main responsibility is childcare — supporting the host family by helping with the children’s daily routines, meals, and activities.

You’ll also do light household tasks related to the children, such as tidying their rooms or preparing simple meals.

Life as an Au Pair

Au Pairs work up to 45 hours per week and receive regular time off, paid vacation, and a 30-day travel period after the program.

You’ll share family life, learn local customs, and experience iconic U.S. celebrations like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Why Join

It’s more than just work — it’s a chance to grow personally, gain cultural understanding, and form lifelong connections while exploring the United States.
