“We care about people so they can be their best.” This mindset at Hyatt Regency Hotel New Orleans stood out to me from the start of my journey in the United States as a Food & Beverage Intern.
During my internship, I worked as a restaurant server, host, and room service server across different outlets in a high-volume environment. My responsibilities included welcoming guests, presenting menus, assisting with orders, delivering food and beverages, and maintaining service standards while working closely with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
This experience strengthened my communication, adaptability, attention to detail, and teamwork skills, especially during busy shifts and large events. Hyatt’s supportive culture, recognition of staff, and the opportunity to work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds made the experience even more meaningful. Festive celebrations, thoughtful gestures, and continuous guidance from managers further boosted team morale.
Through constructive feedback, I refined my customer service approach, learned to anticipate guest needs, and developed confidence in problem-solving. I am grateful for this opportunity and highly recommend this internship to students seeking growth in the hospitality and F&B industry.
